According to Albert Ellis, describe what contributes to a family’s reported problem.

What will be an ideal response?

Families are not “born” to interact either irrationally or rationally because such styles of interacting are learned. When irrational beliefs are accepted as truths by a child, such beliefs have the power to compress a child’s perception of the world and reduce certain events to one-dimensional encounters. Over time an irrational belief can result in a deep rut in the way a person thinks, which can make it difficult for a person to veer away from the established path of an irrational belief. It is an accumulation of rigidly held irrational beliefs that lie at the center of a family’s reported problem.
