What is the Backward Planning method of goal setting?

What will be an ideal response?

The Backward Planning method of goal setting is aimed at helping people anticipate the steps that must be taken to accomplish a specific goal. The method encourages students to begin by identifying a goal and then working backward to identify the various milestones and tasks that lead to that goal. Backward Planning contains many of the same steps and considerations that are part of all goal-setting processes. However, it asks students to think differently about their goal-specifically, the steps that lead to it.
