ANS: Assessment is collecting information to determine the progress of students' learning. Embedded assessments are classroom-based assessments that make use of the actual assignments that students are given as the unit is being taught; they can be used to evaluate the developmental stages of student learning. Authentic assessment is assessment related directly to tasks or examples from the real world. It often involves some kind of performance on the students' part, in which case it is sometimes called performance assessment. Responses to the last portion will vary.
