Describe an activity for introducing students to graphing
What will be an ideal response?
To introduce graphs, the teacher might give each student in the class a choice of four colors of sticky notes and ask the students to choose their favorite color. On a white board, the teacher can draw the x-axis (color of sticky note) and the y-axis (number of students). Students create a graph by placing their favorite color of sticky note on the corresponding column. After all of the students have placed their sticky notes on the graph, the teacher and the students can discuss the information represented on the graph.
