Compare and contrast Reading Recovery and Early Reading Intervention.

What will be an ideal response?

Reading Recovery and Early Reading Intervention (ERI) are both interventions aimed at preventing reading difficulties in young children. A significant difference between the two is that Reading Recovery is focused on little books and application of skills to reading whole text while ERI is focused tightly on skill development. Also, while Reading Recovery emphasizes teacher decision-making in lesson-planning, ERI is tightly scripted and progresses at the same rate for every student.
