Staffing. Home-country, host-country, and third-party employees all have different needs. They may require different sourcing, training, disciplinary actions, and compensation.
Training. Due to differences in orientation, culture, religion, language and more, training will need to be modified. Training may be needed on differing workplace safety laws, for instance.
Employee and labor relations. Differing laws concerning employee relations require HR to become competent in legal issues where the company operates. Many countries’ labor laws are more strongly oriented toward protection of the individual employee than in the United States, for instance.
Compensation. Wages may need to be adjusted to reflect differing standards of living.
