What are the different safety concerns related to handling lead acid batteries?

What will be an ideal response?

The acid inside a battery can be unsafe if not handled properly. You must take care not to spill the battery, turn it upside down, or overcharge it. A charging battery will emit hydrogen gas from its vents. This gas is explosive so keep any sparks away from it. You should also not charge or jump start a battery that is frozen. A battery will freeze when it becomes discharged and cold. Charging a frozen battery could cause it to explode.
When handling a battery you should also take care not to touch the acid with your skin. Wear the proper safety equipment, such as gloves. Acid will irritate your skin, and it can cause holes in your clothing.
