An air-weather barrier (AWB) is required to be vapor permeable. Why?
What will be an ideal response?
An AWB is placed on the outside face of a wall assembly just behind the exterior cladding. It should be vapor permeable so that the vapor that migrates from the interior of a building into the assembly does not get trappedwithin the assembly, where it might condense and wet the insulation and corrode fasteners.
