Why is it not possible to use circuit switching in ad hoc networks?

Ad hoc networks are basically peer-to-peer multi-hop mobile wireless networks
where information packets are transmitted in a store-and-forward manner from a
source to an arbitrary destination. It is not possible to have all nodes within each
other’s radio range. Only few nodes are within each other’s radio range. First path
from a source to a destination could be determined on-the-fly and even after that,
circuit switching requires message receipt and transmission by each intermediate
node along the path. This cannot be supported by current ad hoc network antenna
technology. Therefore, it is not possible to use circuit switching in ad hoc
networks.
