Provide an appropriate response.Write a system of equations that would be more easily solved using the substitution method than the elimination method. Explain why substitution would be easier than elimination.

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary.
 3x + 2y = 4,
 x = 3y + 5
Substitution would be easier to use then the elimination method since the second equation has a variable alone on one side. Using the substitution method would immediately yield
 3(3y + 5) + 2y = 4,
which could then be solved for y. Using the elimination method would require multiplying the second equation by -3 and then adding the resulting equation to the first equation, just to reach a similar point in the process.
