As you may have heard before, stress can kill you! Explain the connection between the deleterious effects of stress and the endocrine system
What will be an ideal response?
Much has been made in horror movies about being "scared to death," and it probably does happen rarely that adrenaline and noradrenaline (or epinephrine and norepinephrine) and the fight or flight (or fright!) response contribute to a heart attack. However, the bigger culprit is cortisol and the longer-term stress response. Cortisol is actually cannibalizing your own body in its efforts to keep blood sugar levels high by breaking down proteins like those in your muscles. Cortisol also weakens the immune system and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.
