The core characteristics of ADHD: feeling fidgety and restless, blurting out answers, poor sustained attention/easily distracted, rarely completing a task before moving to the next task, being impulsive, poor delay of gratification, being hyperactive, difficulty regulating activity, diminished rule-governed behavior, and increased variability of task performance. Students may identify a variety of ways these characteristics affect learning.
