Describe the basic characteristics of Free Space Optics.

What will be an ideal response?

Free Space Optics (FSO) is an optical, wireless, point-to-point, line-of-sight broadband technology. Currently, FSO can transmit at speeds comparable to lower-end fiber-optic transmissions, reaching up to 1.25 Gbps at a distance of 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) in full-duplex mode.
