A little more than one teaspoon provides 2300 mg of sodium. Sodium is also used for flavoring of many fast food and restaurants foods. Commercially processed foods such as soups, deli meat, smoked meats and fish, cheese, pickles, olives, condiments, and TV dinners are very high in sodium. Finally, snack foods such as chips, pretzels, and crackers are high in sodium.
