One of the most common aptitude given at the secondary level, usually taken in the spring of junior year or fall of senior year in high school
Used an entrance exam for undergraduate studies
SAT was renamed the Scholastic Assessment Test-I
SATs are made up of the New SAT (SAT Reasoning Test) and the SAT Subject Tests
*SAT Reasoning Test includes critical reading, writing, and math.
Consists of 10 sub-sections, with total test time of 3 hours and 45 minutes)
3 main sections are scored on a 200- to 800-point scale, for possible total score of 2400
SAT Subject Tests are divided into five broad categories: English, history, math, science, and languages
Not intended as a predictive placement test, however researchers indicate that SAT section scores along with high school GPA predicts performance in undergraduate studies
