Earned media is considered an uncontrolled tactic. Explain what this means, and why it carries risk for the practitioner and organization.
What will be an ideal response?
Earned media coverage is achieved through an intermediary such as a reporter or
blogger, who talks about or reports on the organization’s message. The organization
has little or no control over what is reported or discussed by the blogger, which means
that the message presented may not necessarily the one the organization wants. But
when the story or message is presented in a way the organization prefers, the reporter’s
or bloggers comments add a degree of credibility to the story.
