How did the Renaissance differ in France compared to Italy and the northern lands?

What will be an ideal response?

King Francis I was extremely enamored of the chivalric tradition and the ceremony associated with aristocratic knighthood. He immediately declared war on the Italian states, and while participating in these wars, became exposed to the Renaissance ideals present in politics and art. He became a patron of the arts and brought many notable artists to his court in France. In light of his obsession with all things chivalric, however, much of the paintings, literature, and songs glorified warfare. He modeled his court on the architecture of Italy as well. He was also interested in Christian humanism and the criticism of the church. Later in his adult life, he developed a passion for intellectual endeavours and tried to promote art and learning in France. His importation of both Christian humanism and Italian Renaissance customs brought the two traditions together in France.
