Describe the four-stroke cycle.
What will be an ideal response?
On the intake stroke, air and fuel are drawn into the cylinder until
bottom dead center. The compression stroke follows, raising the pressure
and temperature of the air/fuel mixture, followed by combustion, raising
the temperature and pressure dramatically and pushing the piston down.
Lastly, the exhaust stroke, pushing the products of combustion out of the
cylinder, readies it for the intake stroke.
