Briefly describe 3 of the 5 features of cognitive strategy instruction

What will be an ideal response?

Strategy steps are a series of steps usually identified for the student to work through when solving a problem, which are based on an analysis of the behaviors needed to complete the task. Modeling is used as a primary means of instruction and is a very effective technique because students are asked to both watch the observable behaviors and listen to the teacher's self-talk. Self-regulation refers to learners' monitoring of their thinking and actions through language mediation. Verbalization is a component of self-monitoring in which overt verbalization is faded to covert before students are encouraged to think instead of speak out loud. Reflective thinking quires students to take the time to think about what they are doing.
