What are some of the limitations of psychological testing? How might these impact the test results or interpretation of findings?
What will be an ideal response?
: Many psychological tests were developed to detect problems among those who are self-referrals. There is an assumption with these individuals that they are aware they have a problem and are reporting it. There are a lot of cases where the adult may not recognize the problems with their behavior and are not willing to report it particularly if they are being investigated by law enforcement or in a custody battle. Some tests might not be useful depending on the context and the psychometric properties of the test.
