Strengths: A transformational leader is likely to succeed in implementing major organizational
change. A transformational leader is not self-serving and serves as a role model of moral and
ethical behavior. Transformational leaders conceive and communicate powerful visions.
Transformational leaders transform the organization in terms of beliefs, values, and norms
required to accomplish organizational change.
Weaknesses: It is not as easy to see how a transformational leader may be effective at
lower levels of the organization where leaders do not have the power to implement
organizational culture changes, for example. Transformational leaders may be charismatic and
powerful, but they could also turn the organization into the wrong path.
