Briefly describe military time, and explain why it is often used in health care settings


Military time is based on a 24-hour clock, numbers not repeated, AM and PM designations are not used. It's easier to distinguish between AM and PM times; it helps prevent errors in the administration of medications and other patient care duties; it prevents miscommunication regarding scheduling.
