Explain how to determine the R-value of your home’s present attic insulation.
What will be an ideal response?
To determine the R-value of your home’s present attic insulation, measure the thickness of the insulation and note
the type of insulation you have. Refer to the table to determine the R-value for the type of insulation in your attic
and multiply the per-inch R-value by the number of inches of insulation presently installed. Add to the insulation
figure the R-value of the sheathing material that encloses the insulation, but only for the thickness installed.
