• Wear your insulated gloves when verifying the presence or absence of high voltage. This test is done with an HV meter. When you have verified that there is no voltage, you can remove the gloves and complete the rest of your work.
• When you use an HV meter, remember that when a meter blows up, its face blows out. Get into the habit of observing the face of your meter from the side.
• Never hold the HV meter in your hand.
• Keep one hand in your pocket and do not lean against the car.
• Do not wear rings or watches.
