Out-group membership is not very desirable and can have negative consequences for the immediate group and the organization. Members can set precedent that poor behavior is acceptable and are likely to have poor relations with other group members, especially those in in-group, who might be resentful that they (in-group) have to compensate for out-group members. These situations can spread throughout the group, causing morale and performance to suffer. It should not be tolerated.
