Contrast the various functions of the mantle between Cephalopods and Gastropods

What will be an ideal response?

The mantle is responsible for secreting calcium carbonate into the production of the shell of molluscs. In the cephalopods, the mantle cavity is contracted forcefully to generate a jet of water, providing forward propulsion. In other molluscs, such as some snails, the mantle is used for gas exchange.
