What is stream piracy? What happens when one stream pirates another? What will be an ideal response?
Stream piracy occurs when headward erosion cuts through a drainage divide and diverts part of the
drainage of another stream. The pirating stream has more water, greater discharge, and greater
potential to erode and transport; these same properties are decreased in the pirated stream.
