It is important to include front-line employees in the development or safety programs and processes to gain their buy-in and provide them with a sense of ownership. Front-line employees understand workflow and equipment better than most and can assist in determining if parts of a program will meet conflict. The front-line employee may even be able to resolve any conflicts or help provide up-front solutions to systems, equipment, or process problems.
