Why is water important?

What will be an ideal response?

Water is important because of its functions–it serves as an acid-base buffer, transports oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, regulates body temperature, is a lubricant, adds structure to cells, participates in hydrolysis and condensation, and provides a protective cushion for the brain and other organs. Since the body cannot make water, it must be consumed as foods or beverages on a daily basis.
