How are consultation teams used in DBT?
What will be an ideal response?
Because treating clients with BPD can be enormously stressful, Linehan incorporated a consultation team as a source of support for therapists and to encourage adherence to the therapeutic model and requires that therapists claiming to provide DBT must be active members on consultation teams of two or more people. Consultation teams are often equated to a structured peer support group for therapists, through which each team member simultaneously provides and receives guidance (i.e., “therapy for the therapist”).
