In today’s rapidly changing, globally connected world, the field of global media relations is a challenging one. Challenges include making sense of emerging markets, keeping tactics local, and finding the influencers. How to be flexible and adapt to widely differing cultures and changing conditions is a problem that public relations scholars have researched. Professionals should keep in mind dimensions such as the political and economic system, culture(s), levels of activism, level of economic development, the media system in a given country, social expectations, and local influencers.
