Describe the feeding recommendations for either breastfeeding or bottle feeding.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Newborns feed every 2-4 hrs as stomach only holds 3 oz., should respond to cues instead of pushing to finish bottle and overfeed, look for: 6+ wet diapers and 1-2 mustard stools, normal growth, softening of breast, babies need to be burped afer 10 min of breastfeeding or drinking 1-2 oz formula ,again at end of feeding. Bottle feeding -follow instructions exactly, avoid hot water from tap (increase of lead content) human milk bottle can be frozen for later use, discard leftover (contaminated by saliva)
