What is the major difference between the lithosphere and the asthenosphere?

Answer: It flows, (Plate Tectonic Theory) recognition that the outer layer of the earth, the lithosphere, was broken into a set of plates that were separated from theinteriror of the earth by the asthenosphere. The asthenosphere would flow when a force was applied to it so it could act as a lubricant on which the lithosphere plates could move independently.
