Rogers’s person-centered theory could explain Toshimi’s becoming physically fit and choosing dance as a career as actualizing behavior; her real self is becoming more like her ideal self. Likewise, she seems to have refused to become a victim of conditions of worth: Instead of doing what her parents want, she does what she wants.
Behaviorism could also explain the change in her behavior. It was punishing to not be chosen for anyone’s team.
