Explain how computer programs help us examine distributions of data.

What will be an ideal response?

Many computer programs can help us create or calculate the statistics we want to use to examine our data. Two common programs discussed in this text are Excel and SPSs. These programs can make the creation/calculation of statistics easier and reduce the chance for errors in calculation. However, we will still need to understand what is being calculated in each type of statistic in order to accurately interpret our results.
