Describe the problem a marine fish has with water balance
What will be an ideal response?
Marine fish take in much salt in the food they eat (particularly if they eat invertebrates). Water is lost via the skin, although prevented partly by their scaly bodies. Therefore, they excrete excess salts via the gills. In doing so, their salt concentration of bodily fluids is less than the ocean water.
