Explain which factors influence fertility and how

What will be an ideal response?

Demographers have shown how infant mortality, economic development, the availability of birth control, and attitudes and norms about childrearing and fertility all influence the fertility rates in a country. For example, when there are higher rates of infant mortality families may have more children to ensure at least some survive. Infant mortality is often reduced when economic development occurs and living conditions are improved for the population. The availability of birth control also significantly impacts fertility—women and families have much more control over their fertility choices and can choose not to have children when contraceptives are widely available.
