Compare protostome development to that of the deuterostomes during each of the early embryonic stages.
What will be an ideal response?
During cleavage, protostome cleavage is spiral and determinate, while deuterostomes exhibit radial cleavage and cell fate is indeterminate. During the blastual formation the protostome blastophore will develop into the mouth while in deuterostomes the anus will develop near the blastophore. During the coelom development in the protostomes, the coelom develops by a splitting of the mesoderm. In deuterostomes the coelom forms by an out-pocketing of the primitive gut.
