Identify at least 5 ways that internal validity can be managed by evaluators.

What will be an ideal response?

Internal validity can be managed by evaluators by: (1) the use of measurements that have been tested, (2) the use of multiple means to gain measurements (e.g., identifying and describing a phenomenon using three points of examination is called triangulation), (3) the structure of the evaluation process, (4) peer debriefing, (5) having sufficient documentation of one’s efforts so as to leave an audit trail, and (6) gaining feedback from research participants to test out responses and findings, and gathering extensive descriptions to provide validation of one’s findings. However, central to assuring validity is the selection of a design for the evaluation that collects needed information in a manner that maximizes one’s ability to make statements about effectiveness with some degree of confidence and credibility.
