Ryanodine receptors are calcium channels, present in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissue. In cardiac muscle they are regulated by calcium, resulting in calcium-induced calcium release from the SR. In skeletal muscle, they are regulated by mechanical linkage to voltage-sensing receptors in SR, thus they are indirectly voltage-regulated.
