Communication disorders include varied impairments that interfere with children's abilities to effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas to others. These impairments can include speech, language, and hearing. Speech disorders affect a child's ability to be understood. Language disorders affect spoken language, reading, and written communication. Hearing difficulties can range from hearing loss to deafness.
