Methods can include asking someone for information directly such as in an interview, questionnaire, or survey. One can also observe a person's behaviors such as what Fisher-Price did when watching children play with toys. It is also important to make use of already collected information or statistical data. This information can come from texts, periodicals, and journals. The American Marketing Association offers both the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Marketing Research as excellent resources.
