Describe Lewin's force field analysis, and how it functions in anticipating and planning for resistance to change

What will be an ideal response?

Kurt Lewis developed a popular and useful technique for analyzing sources of support and
resistance called force field analysis. Lewin believed that participation and communication are keys to change, and collaborative strategies are preferred to conflict strategies. The force field analysis technique is based on an analogy to physics: a body will remain at rest when the sum of forces operating on it is zero. When forces pushing or pulling in one direction exceed forces pushing or pulling in the opposite one, the body will move in the direction of the greater forces. In planned change, we are dealing with social forces rather than physical ones.
