Ans: Essays should discuss the following: becoming king at the age of five, Louis was very fortunate that the right people guarded and guided him along this path. His early years as king were helped by the loyal Cardinal Mazarin. Mazarin was able to control the many threats to Louis including attempts to assassinate the boy king. Mazrin will also eventually be able to challenge and control the various powers in Parliament. If necessary, he would call out royal troops. Eventually nobles and the Parliament resorted to live untaxed in exchange for Louis taking the throne. Add to this the strong will and work ethic of Louis. With this determination he was able to gather the support form many sectors including the courts, nobles, and bureaucrats.
