Teachers work with a number other professionals within a literacy program. Classroom teachers are taking more responsibility for all students, including those who struggle, and are working more closely with the special education teacher, the reading–language arts coach, and other specialists. Through collaboration, classroom teachers can obtain services and materials for struggling learners and special needs students and can also learn teaching and management techniques that will help them more effectively instruct these students. Classroom teachers are also working more closely with other classroom teachers as they meet in grade-level meetings and engage in peer observations.
