Answer: In a healthy person, hemoglobin is already near 100% saturating, so hemoglobin cannot bind any more oxygen. There will be an increase in the dissolved oxygen, but since this is a relatively small fraction of the oxygen transport, the effect on total oxygen delivery is relatively minor.
