What is a Nissan fundoplication and what will it accomplish?


This is a surgical procedure that restructures the lower end of the esophagus and the fundus. The fundus is shortened by surgically making tucks and is brought up around the esophagus. The procedure is completed in an attempt to correct reflux espophagitis.
