What did Sheldon and Eleanor Glueck conclude regarding the relationship between personality and crime?
What will be an ideal response?
They concluded that the "delinquent personality" does not depend so much on a list of characteristics as it does on the relationship among characteristics. These characteristics include being more extroverted, vivacious, and impulsive and less self-controlled than nondelinquents. Delinquents also tend to be more hostile, resentful, defiant, suspicious, and destructive. Delinquent youths are less likely to fear failure and are less concerned about meeting conventional expectations. They do not respond to authority and are more socially assertive. Delinquents often say that they are not recognized or appreciated.
