Define society. How is the definition different for preindustrial and industrial societies?

What will be an ideal response?

A society is the largest, most self-sufficient social structure. A society is a group of people who live within fixed territorial boundaries, and is generally independent of outsiders. Preindustrial societies fit this definition better than industrial societies. In the latter, modern societies, there is so much complexity that political, economic, military, and social relationships with other nations are unavoidable.
