What is the definition of sex? Explain in more detail what this definition incorporates under the term sex.
What will be an ideal response?
Sex is defined as any action, thought (conscious or unconscious), or perception that produces the arousal or pleasures that evolved to guide or encourage reproductive behaviors. Given that this definition includes mental processes, not just sex acts, it includes a great variety of experiences. For example, many activities that are aimed at making a person more attractive to the opposite sex go under the term sex. Whether one is dressing up, exercising, or driving an expensive car, we can call all of these activities sexual, as they have one final goal, and that is attracting a suitable partner for a sexual
encounter. According to this definition, sex is much more than just copulation and includes sexual desire, perceiving someone as a desirable partner, manipulating one’s own image in order to attract a partner, displays of intimacy or commitment, and more.
